The Project Team (Parkerville Children and Youth Care – George Jones Child Advocacy Centre) have greatly appreciated the support from their administrative and clinical colleagues without whom this work would not be possible.
Reference Group members past and present, provided direction, support, feedback and materials over numerous meetings.
International and National Colleagues were also consulted and they providing information and shared their experiences in and of advocacy most generously. The Project Team wishes to thank in particular David Gee, Retired Chief Inspector UK; Fay Maxted, The Survivors Trust UK; Bernie Ryan St Mary’s SARC UK; Jacqui Bowman, Derbyshire Rape Crisis UK; Sarah Crew Chief Inspector Avon and Sommerset Constabulary UK and Dorinda Cox, Independent Consultant Australia.
This project was the brain child of Natalie Hall, former Director of the George Jones Child Advocacy Centre. Natalie not only conceived, instigated and over-viewed the project, but was also a primary contributor in the development of its resources, facilitated its workshops nationally, engaged key stakeholders and as a system’s advocate, championed this cause so victim/survivors of sexual assault and their families would be better served.
Finally and most importantly the Project Team are extremely grateful for the input of victim/survivors – children, young people and adults who have given their thoughts, feedback and ideas to the team directly or who have participated in research and government inquiries in which their views of services and advocacy have been captured. We have learned a lot from your experiences and reflections and hope that we have advocated clearly and strongly for your suggested improvements, designs and ideas to be incorporated into service systems and in advocacy roles specifically.
