Parkerville Children and Youth Care Inc. has met the Safeguarding Children Standards set out by the Australian Childhood Foundation and received full Safeguarding Children accreditation in November 2016.
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share our commitment.
Our recruitment and selection processes reflect this commitment and will include criminal records and reference checks for successful applicants.
What is a Therapeutic Foster Carer?
Therapeutic Foster Carers provide care in their own home for children who are unable to live with their parents.
Therapeutic Foster Carers are part of Parkerville’s multi-disciplinary team approach to caring for children – our goal is to enable children to experience long term stability in a family setting and develop lifelong associations to support them into adulthood.
How would I be supported?
Therapeutic Foster Carers are allocated a Case Manager and have access to a range of professionals such as Teacher, Occupational Therapist and Psychologist to support the child in all aspects of their life.
We understand that raising children can be expensive so we provide Therapeutic Foster Carers with a generous subsidy and additional support for out of pocket expenses such as school and recreational activities.
Therapeutic Foster Carers also receive comprehensive training to support them in their role and access to an on call Case Manager outside business hours.
If you would like further information about the role of a Therapeutic Foster Carer and are interested in becoming part of the team in the Perth Metro or the Murchison, please contact:
