Spotlight Movie night

On Sunday 31 January one of Parkerville Children and Youth Care’s (CYC) ambassadors, Mrs Helen Nuttall hosted the Spotlight film night at Paradiso Cinema, Northbridge as a friend and fund-raiser for Parkerville CYC. The 2015 release, Spotlight film was very suited to the work that Parkerville CYC undertakes against child abuse and trauma. Based on true events in 2001, the detective story investigates American clergymen associated with child abuse across the country, with the controversial plot exposing hundreds of cover-up child abuse cases. The film was excellently produced demonstrating the severity of child abuse, not only in the U.S but across the world.

The evening was enjoyed by all attendees; new and established supporters of Parkerville CYC. With a sell out auditorium Parkerville CYC started the evening with a welcome by CE Basil Hanna and a short Parkerville CYC film focusing on the prevalence of child abuse in Western Australia.

Thank you to all our supporters who attended the evening. We look forward to future cinema evenings.
