Give the Gift of Safety this Christmas

For most children, Christmas means joy, warmth, and family. But for some, it’s a reminder of everything they’ve lost. For children and young people impacted by trauma stemming from homelessness, abuse, family conflict or violence, Christmas can feel unsafe, uncertain, and lonely. Instead of magic, they may feel fear.

But with your help, they can find safety, care, and hope this Christmas.

At just seven, Maddie had slept in eight different beds in six months. Some were at relatives’ homes, one in a short-term motel - and twice, she and her dad slept in their car.

Through Parkerville’s support, they found short-term accommodation, practical help, and most importantly, the care and stability that began to rebuild Maddie’s sense of safety and hope.

Your gift this Christmas can help children like Maddie feel safe, supported, and at home.

Supporting Children and Families Affected by Abuse

Every child deserves to feel safe and loved. But across our state, too many are facing instability, neglect, or trauma - often in silence.

  • 1 in 6 children in Australia experience homelessness or housing stress each year.
  • 1 in 7 people experiencing homelessness are children under 12.
  • 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 boys experience child sexual abuse before the age of 18.
  • In 2024, 1,709 children in WA were reported as victims of sexual assault.

Your donation today helps Parkerville provide counselling, crisis intervention, safe housing, and therapeutic support that changes lives.

This Christmas, your gift can be the start of a brighter story.

Our Promise

Every donation received through this campaign will be used where it’s needed most across Parkerville Children and Youth Care. By keeping your gift flexible, you allow us to respond to urgent needs, strengthen existing services, and invest in new ways to support children, young people, and families.

Your generosity ensures we can provide safe homes, therapeutic support, education and training opportunities, and programs that prevent harm and create brighter futures. Most importantly, it gives us the ability to act quickly and effectively — so help reaches those who need it, when they need it most.
