Parkerville Children and Youth Care's Therapeutic Services offer a range of services for trauma and abuse-related issues.

Every day we are in awe of the children and young people we support for their resilience and willingness to keep trying to engage and connect, to overcome the challenges they have faced.

Children and young people deserve a stable, loving and safe environment in which they are able to grow and be strong in all areas of their lives.

Our experienced multi-disciplinary Therapeutic team, which includes counsellors, psychologists, and social workers, is trained in a wide variety of therapeutic interventions. These include Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), psycho-education, behavioural modification/management, brief solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and play therapy.

The team specialises in working with children and families impacted by complex trauma, including child sexual abuse, family domestic violence, harmful sexualised behaviour, and other adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
