2024/25 Annual Report
As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with pride and excitement about what the Parkerville team has accomplished, and how that will shape the transformative journey ahead. This has been a year of remarkable growth and strategic positioning. This includes establishing Parkerville Children and Youth Care Therapeutic Education Services (PTES), opening the Kids Hub, and launching our new Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan.
Most significantly, after 13 years of fundraising to support the program, we have just secured a sustainable funding partnership with government and philanthropists to deliver our MIST service for children and young people who have been sexually abused. This achievement represents years of advocacy and planning and will enable us to provide
comprehensive, trauma-informed support when children and families need it most.
As we look toward the future, we see an organisation that is stronger, more focused, and better positioned than ever to fulfill our mission. Together, we are building a future where every child and young person has the opportunity to heal, learn, and thrive.
2023/24 Annual Report
This year we continued to deliver on our promises to deliver exceptional services to children and young people in our community. This includes the expansion of our MIST service into the Rockingham area, as well as being awarded a substantial contract to deliver Our Way Home out-of-home-care services.
The 2023-2024 financial year was a period of significant growth and achievement for Parkerville as we continued to advance our Strategic Plan 2023-2026. Our efforts were marked by the successful launch of several key initiatives that have already begun to transform the lives of children, young people and families across WA.
Our organisation continues to learn from and build upon its rich history, focusing on delivering high-quality, child-centred services that address current needs and anticipate future challenges. Together, we strive to deliver exceptional services that make a positive difference to the lives of children, young people and their families.
2022/23 Annual Report
This year we commemorate 120 years of continuous service to the Western Australian community. In recognising this milestone, we acknowledge and pay our deepest respect to all former residents.
The learnings we have from the past continue to drive our commitment to design and deliver contemporary, child safe, and robust evidence-based services, and be an organisation that constantly strives for excellence in all that we do. Through this drive and dedication, we have continued to transform the way we work and strengthen our position as a trusted organisation dedicated to the safety and well-being of children, young people and their families.
As we reflect on our journey over the past year in particular, our purpose, values, and vision remain the guiding force behind every decision and action we take. Our newly crafted strategic plan now serves as our North Star, guiding the way to our future and allowing us to zero in on key areas essential for our growth and sustainability.
2021/22 Annual Report
From Parkerville Children and Youth Care’s humble beginnings as a children’s home on an 18-acre block in the Perth Hills, we have evolved into a dynamic and professional organisation that is leading the way in innovative and responsive services for Western Australian children and young people.
Today, we are driving change through evidence-based therapies and expert knowledge. The safety and wellbeing of children, young people and families, and ensuring their voices are heard, remains at our heart.
While this year has thrown some challenges our way, it has been heartening to see our team’s dedication to ensuring minimal disruptions to service so that children, young people and their families remain supported and have access to the services and supports they need to heal and thrive.
As we look forward to the future of Parkerville Children and Youth Care, it’s an exciting time as we consider our next steps and dream big about our potential to make a positive impact towards helping Western Australia to be the safest place in the world to bring up children and young people.
We would like to thank everyone in the Parkerville Universe and their dedication to our cause so that we can continue working towards our vision.
2020/21 Annual Report
The past year for the Western Australian community has been one of many changes and adaptions as a result of COVID-19.
Despite the uncertainty we were all experiencing, we were fortunate in many ways to receive silver linings in the form of low unemployment rates, state budget surpluses, and the GDP contribution to the Australian budget being at an all-time high.
While our organisation has been adapting to life under a new “normal”, we have committed to ensuring that we remain sustainable so that we may provide the best possible service to children, young people and the families we serve.
We would like to thank everyone in the Parkerville Universe and their dedication to our cause so that we can continue working towards our mission.
2019/20 Annual Report
The past year has been a year of momentous change, not just for Parkerville Children and Youth Care, but for the world.
COVID-19 had a profound impact on most activities in our community, of which Parkerville was no exception.
As we worked through these challenges, our essential service and office teams alike continued to work with children, young people and their families throughout the lockdown periods, going above and beyond to ensure the people we served were not disadvantaged further.
Despite the challenges COVID-19 threw at our organisation, we celebrated outstanding achievements, overcame challenges and demonstrated continuing determination to deliver on our vision to help WA to become the safest place in the world to bring up children.
