Intensive Family Support Service (IFSS) Perth
Building Skills | Nurturing Safety | Restoring Connections.
Welcome to the Intensive Family Support Service
IFSS provides extra support for families going through tough times. We work with families who are facing complex challenges to help keep children safe, happy, and cared for at home.
Delivered by Parkerville Children and Youth Care, in partnership with Koya Aboriginal Corporation, the service offers practical, in-home support that helps families build stability, strengthen relationships, and have a safer future.
We focus on what families do well, and build on those strengths to create positive and lasting change.
What is the Intensive Family Support Service?
Every family has ups and downs - and sometimes life’s challenges can become too big to manage alone.
IFSS is here to help families who are at risk of child protection involvement or who are working to bring their children safely back home.
Our goal is to help families create safe, stable, and nurturing environments where children can thrive and families can live together safely.
How We Can Help
Our team works closely with families to understand what’s going on and create a plan, providing tailored support that helps families work towards their goals.
We can support you with:
- Parenting and family relationships
- Child safety and reunification
- Alcohol or other drug use
- Assisting with schooling and education
- Family and domestic violence
- Maintaining household
- Mental health and emotional wellbeing
- Setting and maintaining routines
- Financial stress
- Housing instability or homelessness
All support is provided in your home or community, and every plan is developed with you and tailored to your family’s needs.
How We Work
We believe families know their children best. Our role is to walk beside you, offering guidance and practical help while building on your family’s strengths.
We work together with families, the Department of Communities, and other local services to make sure the right supports are in place.
Our approach is:
- Respectful and understanding – we listen without judgment and value your experience.
- Culturally safe and inclusive – we provide support that respects your culture and background.
- Child-focused – we always keep children’s safety and wellbeing at the centre of our work.
- Collaborative – we work together with you and others involved in your family’s care.
