Multi-Agency Investigation and Support Team (MIST)
A collaborative initiative involving WA Police Child Abuse Squads, and Parkerville Children and Youth Care, dedicated to providing specialised support and comprehensive services to children, young people, and families affected by child sexual and physical assault.
The Multi-Agency Investigation and Support Team (MIST) provides essential trauma-informed services for children and their families, tailored to the highly complex needs of sexual abuse survivors.

The MIST program is an innovative and holistic approach to the support of children (and their families), who have experienced sexual abuse and is based at the Stan and Jean Perron Child, Youth and Family Centre – our purpose-built headquarters in Midland, the George Jones Child, Youth and Family Centre in Armadale, and the Rockingham Child, Youth and Family Centre.
MIST delivers integrated services to survivors, combining trauma-informed, response recovery support, with a long-term therapeutic care program. MISTs provide a response where the child and family are central, and their needs are supported through different stages of treatment and recovery.
This holistic approach ensures a safe and healing environment from the first encounter, empowering families with coping skills, and guiding them through interviews, court processes, and therapeutic healing, promoting lasting positive outcomes.
Protective Behaviours
Protective Behaviours is a living skills program, which develops children’s resilience, increases self-esteem, problem solving skills when challenging situations arise and encourages children to develop a network of supportive adults who take action to keep kids safe.
