Child and Parent Centres
Our Child and Parent Centres specialise in the developmental needs of children designed to increase the capacity of families and help them provide appropriate experiences and a happy, healthy home environment.
We often start working with families even before a child arrives to help parents create a nurturing home environment where their children can thrive.
Our Child and Parent Centres are specially equipped, with qualified nurturing staff and great resources. We specialise in the developmental needs of children from pre-birth to eight years of age, and our programs are designed to increase the capacity of families and help them provide appropriate experiences and a happy, healthy home environment.
Co-located at independent school sites, our centres are a resource for the whole community offering a wide range of services for children and their families, including:
- Antenatal education
- Child health checks and referrals
- Parenting information and programs
- Mental health, disability and psychology services
- Allied health services, including speech and occupational therapy
- Information sessions on supporting children’s physical, cognitive, language, and social and emotional development
- Early learning and development programs with parent involvement, such as playgroups
Most activities are held at the centre, or in various community locations to make it easier for parents to attend. Services are based on the needs of clients in each community and feedback from local families is very important.
