Moving Out Moving On
Moving Out Moving On program is an outreach program designed to help young people who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness or residing in crisis or temporary accommodation.
The Parkerville Children and Youth Care Moving Out Moving On program is an outreach program designed to help young people, aged 15 to 21 years (15 to 25 if from a CaLD background), who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness or residing in crisis or temporary accommodation.
Moving Out Moving On is an outreach service and our friendly staff visit young people wherever they are staying or at another agreed venue. Popular locations for us to meet are public places such as libraries, parks and fast food venues.
The Moving Out Moving On staff connect with young people in the South and North-East suburbs of the Perth Metropolitan area, with a particular focus on Midland and surrounding areas.
Moving Out Moving On helps young people to:
- Plan stable, long term accommodation options
- Access Centrelink payments and support where applicable
- Access education, training and employment options
- Create links with other support services to address health, financial and other needs
- Increase their contact with safe and supportive family members and social and community networks
