Reconnect

Reconnect provides an outreach program for both young people and their families.

Happy mother and teenage daughter

Reconnect is a free, voluntary and confidential program to help prevent young people, aged 12 to 18 years from experiencing homelessness and encourages them to stay connected with family and the community.

Reconnect assists young people to stabilise their living situation and improve their level of engagement with family, work, education, training and their local community.

We aim to be as flexible as possible. Some may like to catch up at home, a coffee shop, school or in a park, wherever they feel most comfortable. If you are a parent, we are happy to catch up during your lunch break at work, or at home after hours, whatever is convenient for you!

Services we provide in the program:

  • Help young people improve their relationships with family and friends by providing individual support, information, counselling and mediation
  • Help with education, employment or training options
  • Link young people with community networks and support services
  • Assist parents and carers to access any additional support they require
  • Help young people stay connected by providing support to young people and families for up to 12 weeks

Young people can refer themselves to the service or referrals can be made by families, schools or any agency by phoning (08) 9235 7000 within office hours Monday to Friday 9-5 pm or completing the Reconnect Referral Form and email to adminteam@parkerville.org.au.
